At the BlogHer conference cosponsored by iRobot, our favorite robotics company announced a new survey showing the difficulty families have finding time managing household chores.
(I would have thought this would appear in the "duh" category of surveys, a la "Survey shows kids like sugar!")
At any rate, 49 percent say they are stressed out by household chores.
Here's the company chatter, from a guy I hadn't heard of before, Matt Palma, veep of sales and marketing, who presumably will be speaking on this sorts of issues after the company said adios to Home Robots Prez Sandra Lawrence:
“For years, we have all heard about the issue of work-life balance – creating balance between your work duties and your personal life,” Palma said. “But what we’ve uncovered is that the issue of balance does not end when Americans come home at the end of the day. If anything, the struggle for balance inside the home – balancing work and play – is as acute as the struggle to delineate between work life and personal life.”
“iRobot wants to bring this conversation to the forefront and help people learn more about today’s available solutions for better work-life balance in the home. For example, iRobot’s products are designed to make a difference in people’s lives by helping to create better balance in the home a reality. iRobot’s automated tools truly help with routine household tasks whether it be vacuuming, floor washing, or gutter and pool cleaning,” Palma continued.

I recommend that you read the instruction manual, front to back, before you attempt to put it together and when you actually do, make sure you tighten every bolt and include every screw. rc helicopterOne missing screw or loose bolt can throw the whole helicopter off and send it crashing to the ground because it is unbalanced. The 2AA ProPolymer led flashlight model features a .5 Watt, 30,000-hour lifetime High Flux led that provides an output of 25 lumens typical and works with Streamlight's proprietary deep-dish parabolic reflector to provide a focused beam, while also optimizing peripheral lighting. Offering a continuous runtime of 18 hours, the light uses two included 1.5 volt AA alkaline cells. The led flashlights model features the same convenient pushbutton tail switch as the incandescent model. Just as an elderly adult may do 15 minutes of weight training to fight osteoporosis, he said, so could he or she play video games to keep the mind sharp.
