iRobot Q4 2008 Conference Call Transcript

Seeking Alpha has a complete transcript of iRobot's conference call.

I'm fairly ecstatic. The company expects an SUGV contract and shipments in the second half of 2009, along with contracts for Seaglider, Warrior, etc. This is a very exciting time for the company on the G&I side, and the company is well positioned to prosper when the recession ends.

Roombas of Doom! From The Daily Show

Remember when I said iRobot was wary of crossing its military bots with its softer consumer side? No longer: iRobot CEO Colin Angle went on The Daily Show in this hilarious bit:

iRobot Reports 4th Quarter and full year results

Would you believe that iRobot actually made more money in 2008 than 2007 on an operating basis? Well, they did, and despite all the gloom and doom about the consumer in 2009, iRobot may actually top their minimal profit again in 2009 despite expectations of basically flat revenue. How's that for earnings management from the new CFO? Not too bad, and the company also saw cash flow of $19 million in the fourth quarter, and has more than $40 million in the bank. Don't forget the no debt part. When cash is king, it helps to have cash.

Lessons from this: iRobot will be a survivor of the Crash of 2008-2009.

I will have a full update on today's conference call late tonight as I am horrifically busy today. Cheers!
