On iRobot's web site, they have a listing for a Medical Director for their health robotics division. They want a doctor on staff who will help come up with their robots and then sell them. It's the only hire for the medical division, so I'd say at this point, that is still in the hobby territory.

Neato Robotics DELAYS XV-11 to Summer!
BREAKING: Neato Robotics, which has touted its XV-11 laser-guided robotic vacuum as a Roomba-killer for months, has delayed launch of the product until the summer, according to the company's web site. I just tried to preorder the vacuum and the site said it would be "available this summer." The company had earlier talked about availability in January or February at retailers like Hammacher Schlemmer and Amazon, and, well, here we are in March and Nada. Don't know if this was a manufacturing issue, a supply issue, a design issue, a demand issue or what. Neato apparently did recently secure a $15 million round of investment, so there is a chance that this will one day take Roomba on and do well, but this isn't encouraging news.
